Raleigh, NC (November 29, 2022) – Ndustrial, the production-first Energy Intensity platform, today announced that Co-Founder and CTO John Crawford has been named as a 2022 Environment+Energy Leader 50 Honoree.
At a young age, John has not only racked up numerous patents; he has also put his innovations to work on a massive scale. He developed several groundbreaking technologies that have helped drive down Energy Intensity in the industrial sector.
John designed a wireless energy monitoring system as the CEO of a startup during college. He then co-founded Ndustrial and went to work quietly reshaping how industrial companies think about energy management.
The Ndustrial platform now integrates over 40 different systems into a single view, processing over 100 million data points every day to enable smarter energy decisions in real time.
John Crawford is also the architect of the Ndustrial Optimization framework, which helps clients analyze, optimize, and automatically control their most energy-intensive processes. This is the basis for John’s work to optimize the blast freezing process for cold storage facilities, helping them optimize operations and increase revenue by tens of thousands per month while reducing carbon emissions.
It also underpins the load control work that has enabled clients to save tens of thousands in energy costs per day during periods of grid stress. Using this approach, the world’s largest mechanical tire recycler has saved over $1 million this year in one facility alone.
John Crawford is affectionately known as a “field CTO” because he spends his time not only developing software and algorithms, but also visiting customer sites, listening to people of all backgrounds and working to improve processes in an enduring way.
Competition for this year’s award was intense. Other Honorees include Chief Sustainability Officers and other top executives at many Fortune 500 companies. Visit https://www.environmentalleader.com/ee-50-honorees to see the full list of honorees.
“The Honorees on the annual list show groundbreaking work and dedication to the field of sustainability and energy management,” says Sarah Roberts, Publisher of Environment+Energy Leader. “We’re thrilled to recognize this year’s Honorees and congratulate all who made the List.”
Now in its sixth year, the annual Environment+Energy Leader 50 recognizes those environment and energy ‘doers’ who break trail in creating new solutions, programs, platforms, best practices and products to help their companies – or other companies – achieve greater success in commercial and industrial environment and energy management. And it doesn’t just celebrate the C-suite, but also those top managers and in-the-trenches team members who are working diligently behind the scenes and shaping the industry. Nominations are open to the public and the final honoree list is selected by Environment+Energy Leader.
Nominations for the E+E 50 are made by Environment+Energy Leader readers and others that work in the industry and are vetted and then selected by the Environment+Energy Leader team and a select group of advisors from the industry.
