Raleigh, NC — June 26, 2025 — Ndustrial celebrates World Refrigeration Day and the growing momentum of the Move to Minus 15 by equipping cold chain operations with new product temperature insights.
Ndustrial’s early results demonstrate that product temperature can be accurately estimated in real time as a function of air temperature changes and the physical properties of specific products. This insight lays the groundwork for smarter temperature control that is proactive, predictive, and product-specific.
“We have had good success modeling the thermal properties of specific products to better understand when changes in air temperature might actually be a problem,” said John Crawford, Co-Founder and CTO of Ndustrial. “That means we can focus operators’ attention where it really matters.”
An example using ice cream—a product especially sensitive to temperature swings—illustrates how product temperatures can remain remarkably stable and predictable, even as air temperatures vary:
Ndustrial is now building models that can predict product temperature changes based on historical environmental data, giving frozen operations a clearer path to optimize temperatures with confidence.
Of course, operators across the cold supply chain need a high level of certainty to ensure product quality. That’s why Ndustrial is launching new solutions in response to customer needs such as ColdOS Sense, a next-generation temperature monitoring platform.
“As the Move to -15°C Coalition gains momentum, we’re excited to support its mission with the data and modeling tools that make operational change not just possible—but practical,” added Crawford.
Launched 18 months ago at COP28, the Move to -15°C coalition now includes 55 leading global retailers, food manufacturers, logistics providers, and partners. To learn more about the Move to -15°C initiative or to join the movement, visit movetominus15.com.

Established in 2023, the Move to -15°C aims to reset frozen food temperature standards to reduce greenhouse gases, lower supply chain costs and secure global food resources. It was founded following the launch of the Three Degrees of Change report, an academic paper supported by global logistics firm, DP World. Recognizing that a change in global temperature standards requires a collective effort, the Coalition brings together key players within the global food supply chain to collaborate and explore viable options for a move to -15°C.
